Christmas possum... that's so cute and very Australian. =)
You had me there for a minute. I had completely forgotten Geography, and was wondering for a fraction of a second why people would bare their shoulders in December.
Lovely pictures.
I LOOOOOOOVE the Christmas Possum!!!! I need one! Do you have any more pictures of his about the city???
[this is good]
it's just so strange to see no snow at Christmas, but I guess you're used to it. ;-)

I don't but there are some larger images on the City of Sydney Christmas website here, DS:

Yes, it is cute - like that 'missing cat' poster you had on your blog. :)
You would be used to hot Christmasses, wouldn't you, Lakshmi?
Would love to experience a white Christmas one year, Grant. My kids have never even seen snow.
Although guess Christmas not a big thing in India anyway (except in certain parts)??
Yeah, Christmas is not really that big, and it is a our local winter which is less hot than summer, at least where I live, a few degrees north of the Equator. But, we are so wired (perhaps with the Brit influence of the past) to believe that Christmas time is filled with snow, coniferous trees that we have really never seen and reindeer, to associate the season with winter and it really feels weird to associate the season with strapless clothes and summer activities.

Same here. I remember spraying fake plastic snow about the place as a kid. Also a lot of our traditional Christmas food is heavy stodgy stuff more suited to a winter meal. Pretty silly really!

Some people also like to celebrate "Christmas in July" here just as something fun to do. Not so big in Sydney as it doesn't get all that cold even in Winter but up in the mountains and in places like Canberrra it is quite popular.
